Becoming a "Responsible Adult"...

When we are little we cannot wait to be adults! All we want is to be old enough to
             date,
                                                                  drive
                                                                                                      get married
                         have a family
and just be out on our own
We relish the moments when we finally achieve those moments. When We turn 16 and we FINALLY get to say yes to that guy to go to a school dance. When, after many tries, we finally pass that drivers test and we get to drive all by ourselves. When we leave for College and we get to live by ourselves with no rules. But no one ever warns you about what happens when you are finally a responsible adult. When you move into an apartment and don't know where you are going to get the money to pay rent. or when you are so poor you are eating nothing but rice and ramen cause that is all you can afford. or when you are so poor that hope you get asked out on a date just so you can go out and do something fun. We want nothing but to grow up fast and finally get to be an adult that we don't really realize what that means.

You don't really understand what it means to be an adult until you are actually at that stage in life. Trying to go to school, work to support yourself, and still trying to figure out who you are. There are so many responsibilities when it comes to being an adult but we cannot forget that we are still young. We still don't completely know who we are. Sometimes you just have to
let go and just have fun.
We need to remember these are the years we have to go on that random road trip, to go do something fun at one in the morning just cause, and to enjoy ourselves. Being responsible is important but we cannot let ourselves get so stressed and focused on being responsible that we don't have any fun! Finding that balance is another important part of being an adult.

I am not saying I am perfect at this! In fact I am far from it. All that goes through my mind is how I am going to pay for my rent, food, or school. All I do is stress and homework. I worry about how come I have so few friends, why no guys ask me on dates, and how come I am such a loner. I worry so much that I let myself forget that I need to just
go out and do something stupid!
At some point I am going to be responsible for more then just myself and when that times comes I cannot just go out and do stupid things. College is not just about becoming a responsible adult or just learning about academic things. But it is also about learning about yourself. It is about putting yourself out there and having fun. It is about
learning who you are
and
what you can become.

Being a responsible adult sucks, but
Sometimes you just need to forget that you are an adult and have a little fun :)

I'm in College!

I can't believe I am back at School! It is crazy how time flies and everything that can happen in one summer. When I left BYU to go to Texas for the summer it was the last place I wanted to go. I didn't like Texas at all and now I miss it so much! I made some amazing friends! I want to thank them all for making my summer great and showing me that Texas can be an ok place haha :)

After an extremely long 21 hour drive to get to Utah, with Miss Alyssa Lodge,
